Manitong Group has announced the expansion of its production site for all-terrain aerial work platforms in Cande, France.

          This comes a year after Manitong built a second aerofoil manufacturing plant in the town, and after spending €60 million to build a new manufacturing welding plant in Cande's "Petit Tesseau" industrial area, very close to the location of the off-road platform assembly plant, aiming to increase production capacity and ease supply chain issues. To support the strong growth of the aerial work platform business in the coming years.

          Sylvain Jaguelin, Vice President, Product Division, Aerial Work Platform, explains: "We will continue to work with our approved suppliers to produce machine welding parts. The internalization of this activity will allow us to reduce the tension that our supply chain can suffer during peak activity periods, which are becoming more frequent in a very active platform market."

           It is understood that the new plant covers 20,000 square meters and will employ up to 100 new employees, with 6,000 square meters of solar panels installed on the roof. In addition to welding the components, it will also paint and perform any required machining.

            The investment will last from 2024 to 2025 and is scheduled to be operational in early 2026.
